With one scandal unraveling after another and the increasingly frightening economic situation, escaping into the pages of a beautifully bound and illustrated book is a simple and relatively inexpensive pleasure that feels right this holiday season. Well-edited art, design, and architecture books never go out of style and serve the dual purpose of looking great stacked on a coffee table and feeding the intellect and imagination.  It’s hard to argue the same thing for the latest Wii game or designer handbag.

Following are links to the best holiday art book lists, to help you find the perfect gift for that hard to please person or a well-deserved treat for yourself.  My personal favorites are Seven Days in the Art World by Sarah Thornton and Paintings in Proust by Eric Karpeles.

    • I think that Russian physicist they were paynig to think positive thoughts would argue that your knowledge that things will likely end badly is actual helping to cause things to end badly. You have to really believe that the team can and will go all the way, not just want to believe it but know in your heart that it probably wont happen.
